Joseph Lundy believes in putting God first.  He is a devout husband, dedicated father and grandfather. Joseph is the son of Lucille Small and the late Joseph Lundy, Sr.

 

In 2003, Joseph retired as a sergeant from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department with 22 years of service and training. While employed with HCSD, he was a state certified teacher where he taught at the Hillsborough Community College Law Enforcement Academy teaching subjects including, but not limited to defensive tactics and finger printing.

 

Joseph proved to be a valued asset, an ambassador to his profession. He became a role model and mentor to all those who worked with him. Even after retirement, Joseph remained dedicated to the mission and goals of Hillsborough County Sheriff Department.

 

After retirement, Joseph taught for the GED program at Hillsborough High School. During this time, he also became involved with the University of South Florida Upward Bound Program. While there, he became a mentor to assist the young men within the Tampa Bay Area by exposing them to the many constructive opportunities afford to them through education and life skills. Crediting his children, Joseph founded the Master of Achievement, Leadership and Excellence Scholarship Program, also known as M.A.L.E., In 2004.  In 2010 Joseph Lundy became president of the Tampa District Sons of Allen (TDSOA). He is a mentor with Hillsborough County Youth Advocate Programs, Inc., was a youth advocate with Guardian Ad Litem, and a math and reading tutor with the AVID program.

 

Joseph have received numerous awards for his community dedication and continues to be a mentor to many of the young men in the Tampa Bay Area.  He believes that he can aid young men to become grounded in God, strive for excellence, and be the future leaders of the next generation.
